Atlas of Dermatoscopy: Melanoma and Other Pigmented Lesions of the Skin
HDL Publisher, April 2011, Pages: 155
This book deals with one of the most pressing health issues nowadays - the epidemic spread of melanoma around the globe. The authors are pioneers in the field of melanoma prevention and early detection in the Republic of Macedonia and in the surrounding region.
Dermatoscopic diagnosis of pigmented skin lesions, especially melanoma is the main topic of the book. Dermatoscopy is an up-to-date diagnostic procedure for early melanoma detection and follow-up of suspicious pigmented lesions of the skin. Melanoma has an increasing incidence rate among the white population. According to statistical data, in 2005, the Republic of Macedonia had the second highest mortality rate from melanoma in the world. This accentuates the significance of this book.
The Atlas contains 155 pages, is in A4 format, and offers a wide variety of original material, in addition to 450 high quality digital microphotographs, both clinical and dermatoscopical.
The aim of the book is to support the education of various specialities: dermatologists, general practitioners, surgeons, oncologists, etc.
