OB/GYN Board Review

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Louisiana State University School of Medicine brings to you the 11th Annual New Orleans OB/GYN Board Review. This course is designed to help prepare the obstetrician/gynecologist for participation in the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology certification examination Part I and to prepare the re-certifying physician for the ABOG.
Program Information
The course gives a concise review of basic concepts in obstetrics and gynecology and the information pertinent to diagnosis and treatment of conditions seen in everyday practice in the following areas: general gynecology, obstetrics, high-risk obstetrics, reproductive endocrinology, gynecologic oncology, women’s primary health care, urogynecology, pelvic surgery, ultrasound review, infectious diseases, normal and abnormal pregnancy, infertility.
This course is designed for Ob/Gyn residents, practicing Ob/Gyns, and any healthcare professionals interested in reviewing pertinent basic concepts in Ob/Gyn and the latest information on recent developments in diagnosis and treatment of conditions seen in every day Ob/Gyn practice.
Associate Professor of Clinical Obstetrics and Gynecology, Albert Diket, MD, is the course chair. Some highlights of the course include:
- Immunizations - Hypertension and Heart Disease - Pulmonary Diseases - Urinary Incontinence Work-Up - Medical and Surgical Treatments of Urinary Incontinence - Diabetes Mellitus - Colposcopy - Ectopic Pregnancies - Neurological Diseases in Pregnancy
Target Audience
The activity was planned for residents completing their Ob/Gyn training, physicians seeking reviews before re-certifying, practicing physicians seeking updated skills, and practicing physicians from other primary care areas seeking an obstetrics and gynecology review.
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this program, the participant should be better able to:
- Identify areas of weakness requiring further study - Recognize the format and style of Board questions - Apply the practice test taking skills acquired during the course - Demonstrate increased knowledge of general Ob/Gyn
