About the Author:
Gregory C. Smith is a partner in the Palo Alto office of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP. He has extensive experience representing start-up and emerging growth companies as well as underwriters, financial advisors and venture capitalists. He also speaks regularly at the Stanford Business School on venture capital and securities topics. Mr. Smith received his B.A. from Stanford University in 1985, where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, and his J.D. from Columbia Law School in 1988, where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar.
