What it is useful for
The 'Tomorrow Expenditure' series of reports provide information on the potential value and trend of expenditure by households on each of 10 categories of expenditure. The analysis is done in a comparable manner for all countries covered thereby enabling meaningful comparison of markets and determination of where the best potential lies.

The expenditure categories covered are: Food and non-alcoholic beverages, alcohol and tobacco, Clothing and footwear, Household operations, Health, Transport, Communications, Recreation and Culture, Education, Other (personal care, personal services, misc).

Questions answered in this report include:
- How large is the total spend on a category?
- How much is accounted for by a particular income segment?
- How rapidly will it grow (or decline) over the next two decades?
- Which markets/countries offer the best growth potential and market value? (if purchase report for multiple countries)

Content Overview
The report begins with a brief profile of the population, and how it is expected to change over the next 20 years in terms of total size, age profile, household size and number of households. It then details the overall trend in distribution of households by income level and for each of four income segments the proportion that is saved, taxes and consumption expenditure.

The next section looks at the total savings by all households and then by income segment through to 2029. This is followed by a section on total expenditure by all households as well as by each of four income segments. This shows the value and trend of total expenditure as well as per household. This is then followed by analysis of expenditure by all households and by income segment on the 10 expenditure categories. Where relevant this is done separately for Urban and Rural households.

Finally, there is a section looking at the impact of the recession on expenditure (total and by category) by all households and by income segment if the GDP grows slower than that currently forecast by the IMF. Three scenarios are examined - base case (IMF forecast), IMF forecast less 2 percentage points and IMF forecast less 4 percentage points in 2009.
