Telecommunications Market Shakes off Lethargy as Enterprises Loosen Budgets in 2004
Yankee Group, The, June 2004, Pages: 15
With rising budgets, healthy growth rates for IP and data services (see Exhibit 1), and an increasingly consolidating landscape, the enterprise telecommunications market is finally showing signs of life. The market for enterprise network services faces new competition, business models, and technology choices—from the aggressive sales and marketing plans of the RBOCs to the adoption of VoIP and VPNs by enterprises. Despite the rosy outlook, network managers continue to demand lower prices from their service providers. At the same time, their employers are asking them to deploy and implement more open and IP-centric network solutions.
