The Taiwanese Router Industry, 1H 2004 and Beyond
Market Intelligence & Consulting Institute (MIC) [a division of Institute for Information Industry (III)], Oct 2004, Pages: 25
The second quarter of 2004 saw Taiwanese router shipment volume rebound as retail customers stocked up in preparation for the back-to-school peak sales season. Wireless routers continued to replace wired routers; 802.11g wireless routers came to account for over 50% of total shipment volume, standing firm as the mainstream specification. Looking ahead to the second half of 2004, the global SOHO router industry will experience slow growth. Lack of a new standard to stimulate demand and potential replacement effect from ADSL gateways are expected to have negative impact on volume.
