It includes non-for-profit social and ethnic clubs, alumnis, auxiliaries, societies and associations. These establishments may also operate bar and restaurant facilities for their members. This report covers the scope, size, disposition and growth of the industry including the key sensitivities and success factors. Also included are five year industry forecasts, growth rates and an analysis of the industry key players and their market shares.
Introduction
Its on for young and old
The growth in the number of people aged 5-19 years and the number of people aged 50 years and above has been a major factor in growth figures for this mature industry. The growth in the latter group has outstripped growth in the 5-19 years group. Change in the size of the 5-19 years group is highly correlated with industry revenue growth, while older people tend to be involved in the industry as leaders and organizers (and not membership fee payers). Organizations who will see the most success should have the ability to attract local support/patronage, have greater economies of scale and access to volunteer labor.
