The fraud figures from this report originated from our 2004 Identity Fraud survey, a four thousand consumer phone based survey that included 509 fraud victims. The survey included most questions that were deployed in the 2003 FTC Identity Theft Survey Report and this survey utilized the same methodology and vendor that were used for the 2003 FTC Identity Theft Survey Report.
We also surveyed several vendors of credit monitoring and insurance services, with the results provided in a standardized table.
