Global - Mobile - Revenue, ARPU, Call Charges
Paul Budde Communication Pty Ltd., July 2009, Pages: 9
Synopsis Mobile ARPU levels differ widely between the regions of the world; however on the whole all regions have experienced declines in ARPU over the past few years - and this is set to continue in the current economic environment. ARPU from mobile voice services have been particularly affected by cuts to tariff rates and the trend towards voice-data substitution. As would be expected, markets with strong competition have seen a considerable drop in mobile call charges. This report provides an overview of global ARPU developments, including an historical account and information on current ARPU trends and statistics. The report also includes an overview of mobile phone minutes of use, trends in call charges and mobile broadband costs. Overall mobile industry revenue growth and mobile operator CAPEX is also provided. Brief data for selected countries, regions and carriers is provided where appropriate. Information on termination rates and roaming can be found in a separate report: Global - Mobile - Termination Rates, Roaming & Number Portability.
