In 2Q05, 22.2 million broadband CPE units shipped, an increase of 22% Year over Year (YoY). Revenue increased 26% YoY, up from $920 million in 2Q04 to $1.2 billion in 1Q05.
Cable modem unit shipments were up by 9% Quarter over Quarter (QoQ). In 2Q05, Embedded Multimedia Terminal Adapters (E-MTAs) comprised more than 27% of cable modem shipments.
Shipments for broadband routers were up by 11%, boosted by shipments of routers with VoIP capability. Standalone DSL modem shipments declined in 2Q05 as DSL service providers move to gateway premise equipment in selected markets. Taiwan-based Zyxel Communications continued to lead in both unit and revenue market share of residential gateways; although, Siemens gained market share this quarter with strong shipments in North America.
