IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) was designed for wireless network carriers to provide both voice and data services on their third-generation networks. This report, based on interviews with infrastructure vendors, wireless carriers, and application developers, highlights possible IMS applications, identifies customer spending habits, and forecasts several possible IMS deployment scenarios for the US market.
