With further adjustment and upgrade of livestock and poultry breeding structure, production structure of manufactured feed was also adjusted. Proportion of feed for hog further declined, while feed for chicken increased steadily and proportion of aquatic feed and feed for ruminant was much bigger. Production of formula feed rose a little, and production of condensed feed and additive premix continued to gear up as market demand increased.

A lot of events with far-reaching impact happened on feed market this year. For instance, New Hope Group purchased Shandong Liuhe Group; Tongwei Goup purchased Yuehua Aquatic Feed Co., Ltd and so on. Further more, many animal diseases occurred this year, causing big impact to consumption of livestock products and production and consumption of manufactured feed. Therefore, general situation of feed market this year seemed better than last year. By October this year, gross output of feed enterprises above designated size was 52.04 million tons, earning gross industrial production of 126.8 billion yuan and sales income of 122.6 million yuan, up 24£¥¡¢27£¥ and 27£¥ from same period last year respectively.

This report comprehensively researches production and consumption of manufactured feed, consumption and import and export of major feed stuff and additive in 2005. In addition, the report analyzes structure of varieties of manufactured feed products, price trends, import and export of feed market and general situation of feed industry. The report also gives comments to key feed producing provinces (Guangdong, Shandong, and Sichuan) and key feed enterprises (New Hope Group, Tongwei Group). It also reviews some big events on feed market in 2005, e.g. disease of porcine streptococcus, bird flu, New Hope Group purchased Shandong Liuhe Goup and Tongwei Group purchased Yuehua Company etc. At the end, there is prospect of China's feed market in 2006.
