The first quarter of 2006 shows the traditional post-holiday sales dip disappearing as handset sales soar. Internationally, the production of low-cost handsets from several dozen Chinese manufacturers increased the handset market size astronomically. The distribution of market share for handset manufacturers remains the same with Nokia, Motorola, and Samsung taking the top three spots in the global arena.
