From 1996 to 2002, no gurgitation has been made in the valve industry and the main economic indexes have been stable except for the profit index in 1998; however, the profit margin of the Chinese valve industry is comparatively low. In 2002, state-owned enterprises, collectivity enterprises, liability-limited enterprises and the private enterprises within the trade have all operated normally. Except for the sharp decline in the total profit of the state-owned enterprises, the other indexes have all increased to a different extent in comparison with those of last year. Except for the slight decline in the total industrial output value and the total industrial sales value, main economic indexes of the Sino-foreign joint ventures, such as the total profit, have all increased sharply in comparison with those in the last year due to the influence of the international and domestic factors.
