Quality of Service provides for the carriage of time-sensitive packet- and circuit-switched traffic. We discuss Multiprotocol Label Switching, Virtual Private LAN Service and other techniques of providing QoS and Traffic Engineering for the large, converged networks of telecommunications carriers.
