Enterprise PBX: Product Landscape Report
Current Analysis, Inc., Jan 2007, Pages: 28
Private branch exchanges (PBXs) are privately owned switching systems that connect the office telephones of a business to the public telephone network, con-nect corporate branch offices over a variety of net-work services, and provide calling features (e.g., call transfer, call hold, call forward, etc.) and applications (e.g., voice mail, automated attendant, automatic call distribution, etc.) to end users. PBXs can be based on a traditional TDM switch matrix, an IP switch, or a combination of the two. Sales of new and upgraded enterprise voice systems are being driven largely by the migration to support VoIP and the improving functionality of packet PBX systems. Lack of hard ROI benefits, however, remains a big hurdle for many enterprises. This Competitive Landscape Report combines company and market analysis from the leading telecommunications competitive response firm, Current Analysis, with quantitative market share data from one of the industrys most respected market research firms, Synergy Research Group.
