Outlines mobile broadcast TV subscription growth from 2006 - 2012 in 22 countries across Europe, North America and Asia-Pac.
Highlights of this title: We consider that there are significant barriers for mass adoption for mobile broadcast TV and that addressing these issues will be fundamental for the growth of the service. Barriers include spectrum allocation, device functionality and competition from alternative entertainment sources. Broadcast video content will have to adapt to the mobile environment. These changes will be driven by both user consumption habits and the functionality of the handsets themselves. We consider that the repurposing of content will be essential in adding value to services and further promoting mass adoption. We predict at the end of 2006 there were around 4.4 million mobile broadcast TV subscribers. This subscriber base is forecasted to grow to c65.6 million in 2010 and c155.6 million by 2012 with a CAGR of 66.2%.
