Telstra has a strong position in the enterprise market in Australia due to its scale and broad range of products and solutions. It provides a vast set of solutions (often at the expense of simplicity) across the board to all industry verticals and enterprise sizes. Solutions include remote working solutions, wireless broadband, wireless email, and a range of applications.
Telstra is attempting to push enterprises beyond wireless email to adopt advanced mobility solutions. A lot of focus is on partnering with vendors and solution providers to create a suite of differentiated ‘only at Telstra’ solutions and applications. Challenges here will include building a suite of applications, being the preferred supplier of such applications, transitioning its salesforce from selling minutes and data bundles to applications, and gaining more that just ‘bit pipe’ revenue.
