ENF Brand Survey 2007

Installation companies are currently the most important end-customers. The end-users of PV systems have little expertise of the PV market, and care more about the installer's reputation than the brand of the components. The installation companies however, care strongly about what brand they are buying as it will impact their market reputation.
ENF's Brand Survey has surveyed installation companies in 45 different countries and tracks:
- Distribution trends, which vary widely between different markets. The analysis will help companies to understand what channels they need to develop in each key market.
- Brand scores. This helps companies to see how well each brand is doing in the market, showing views on the product quality and value, and also showing the level of loyalty towards each brand.
- Panel pricing. 2006 and 2007 purchase prices are tracked across all the key markets, which help people to understand the market dynamics, and can help panel manufacturers to adjust their pricing strategies.
- Market conditions. Growth rates in installation companies' business are mapped out in each market, and help to show which markets are successful. Some markets have many companies in decline, while others show most companies experiencing growth rates of above 100%.
- Customer and installation types. Understanding which markets are driven by government purchases, where BIPV installations are popular etc. can give a strong understanding of global PV dynamics.
- Important attributes. 13 supplier business attributes were mapped out by BP Solar (who assisted ENF in designing the survey), and the importance of each attribute in different markets can help companies to adjust their local strategies to maximise installer customer satisfaction.
