Survey respondents comprised 405 online users in the United Kingdom spanning the age band 15 to 65 years, each of whom said they had a collection of digital music.
SCREENING QUESTION: This survey contains responses from online consumers who answered 'Yes' to the following screening question:
'Do you have your own collection of digital music?'
SURVEY INTRODUCTION PAGE: The following information was presented to qualifying panellists in order to explain the nature of the survey and its focus:
'This survey is about usage restrictions that are applied to digital songs purchased from online music stores like iTunes. These restrictions are enforced by software technology called digital rights management (DRM) which is applied to each digital song file.'
SURVEY QUESTIONS: Question 1: What do you think about these usage restrictions?
Question 2: If you buy digital music, then what sort of problems have you personally experienced with these usage restrictions?
Question 3: If you buy digital music, what sort of usage restriction have you personally found to be the most annoying?
