The production value of China machine tool industry in 2006 grew at 37.7%, far higher than the worlds average level of 9.34%; China machine tool industry accounted for 22% of global consumer market; self-sufficiency ratio of machine tool was roughly 45% and that of CNC machine tool was 30%; 60% of machine tool worldwide is for export while machine tool export in China was responsible for only 17% of domestic production value.
