Mobile media in China includes mobile Flash, mobile blog, and mobile e-book services. Mobile Flash service involves downloading Flash content (Flash pictures, Flash games, Flash magazines, Flash MTV, Flash movies, etc.) via a cellular network onto mobile phones. Mobile blog service involves blogging via a wireless network, and mobile e-book service refers to downloading e-books or e-magazines via a wireless network.
Now, with the development of advanced handsets (for example, smartphones and JAVA/BREW-enabled handsets) that are necessary for using mobile media, barriers to these services are coming down. Traditional content providers, service providers, wireless carriers, and handset vendors are looking for opportunities in this market. To help them learn more about consumer attitudes toward mobile media, we conducted a consumer survey.

This report is based on data from 725 respondents, 501 (or 69.1%) of whom had not previously used mobile Flash; 95.8% had not used mobile blogs, and 65.3% had not used mobile e-books. The report first analyzes the characteristics of current users and then discusses the factors influencing potential users? interest in the three services. It also explores preferred applications/content for these services and the preferred level of payment for mobile e-book services of potential users.
