The Taiwanese Server Industry, 2007 and Beyond.
Market Intelligence & Consulting Institute (MIC) [a division of Institute for Information Industry (III)], July 2007, Pages: 18
The Taiwanese server industry has benefited from the fact that the leading international server vendors -Dell, HP, IBM and Sun -outsource a large share of their value-line server production to Taiwanese ODM providers. Fujitsu-Siemens, NEC and smaller regional server vendors have also begun to outsource more of their production to Taiwan and to purchase complete server motherboards from Taiwanese manufacturers. As a result, Taiwan now manufactures more servers per year than any other country in the world except the United States. If server motherboard shipments are added to Taiwans total, Taiwan accounts for over 80% of global server manufacturing. This report will examine the changes in the Taiwanese server industry over the last few years, and identify the major trends in the industry in 2007.
