Sichuan New Hope Agribusiness Co., Ltd (New Hope) is mainly engaged in production and sales of feedstuff and dairy products. In 2006, feedstuff and dairy business took a share of 52.73% and 29.71% respectively in main business revenue, and accounted for 33.19% and 44.21% separately in main operating profit of the Company.
In 2006, Chinas output of feedstuff amounted to 110.59 million tons, up 3.09% year-on-year; the number of slaughtered fattened hogs was 681 million heads and pork yield reached 51.972 million tons. In the first quarter of 2007, the number of slaughtered fattened hogs got to 230 million heads with a year-on-year rise of 2.5%, and pork yield reached 17.734 million tons, up 3% from a year earlier.
New Hope owns twelve dairy-related subsidiaries, including nine shareholding companies, one share-participating company and two milk cow companies. The dairy yield is with a relatively disperse layout. Presently, the dairy yield of New Hope is 800 thousand tons in all, spreading in eight regions across China.
Moreover, the sales volume of dairy products totaled 237.6 thousand tons or so. The average sales volume of each subsidiary company amounted to 30,000 tons and, the average revenue for each got to RMB 130 million with an average gross profit of about RMB 25 million.
