About the Author

Jacqueline Klosek is a senior counsel in the firm’s Business Law Department and a member of its Intellectual Property Group. Ms. Klosek’s practice focuses on advising clients on various issues related to data privacy and security. She also drafts and negotiates various technology agreements and advises on different aspects of the law related to intellectual property and technology.

As a Certified Information Privacy Professional, Ms. Klosek is on the Advisory Board for The Privacy Advisor of the International Association of Privacy Professionals, and is the co-chair of the International Working Group of that organization.

Ms. Klosek serves as Team Leader of Intellectual Property and Technology Law for the Afghanistan Transitional Commercial Law Project, an initiative which seeks to assist Afghanistan in revising its commercial laws. Ms. Klosek has served as a consultant to various Directorate Generals of the European Commission in connection with a number of studies related to various aspects of the information society, including a study on International Private Law and Electronic Commerce, for which she served as the national expert for the United States. The results of this study were presented at the Information Society Technologies 2000: Cyber Commerce and Conflict of Rules conference, held in Nice, France, in November 2000. Ms. Klosek was appointed as a national reporter for the United States on Research and Development Contracts by the Intellectual Property and New Technologies Commission of the Association International des Jeune Avocats (AIJA) for the 2001 AIJA Congress, held in Montreal on August 13-17, 2001.

Ms. Klosek is a member of the American Bar Association, the International Bar Association and the International Association of Young Lawyers.
