The DVD is viewable on any computer or iPod (that supports video) and features 60 minutes of live video with Katherine Brewer of Saul Ewing LLP, sharing her knowledge with and experience of the legal and executive strategies in developing a strong defense in a human rights case. About Katherine Brewer:
Kate Brewer has extensive experience in labor and employment law. She has counseled clients on matters ranging from compliance with Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) affirmative action regulations for government contractors to the application of common law privacy rights, to federal labor law and electronic communications statutes to employee Internet and email use. Ms. Brewer has counseled a wide variety of organizations and businesses including: the U.S. Government, the second largest bank in Western Pennsylvania, a multi-hospital university health system, a national contractors' association, a sign manufacturer, a duct factory, a start-up software company, a day spa, a ballet troupe, and a funeral home. Ms. Brewer's select representative experience includes: defending age, race, disability, sexual harassment and other employment discrimination claims before state human rights agencies, the EEOC and federal and state courts, advising and counseling employers and employees on their rights in the work space, as well as drafting and enforcing employee and employer documents and contracts. She represents employers before the NLRB in unfair labor practice, injunction and election cases, and has litigated NLRA injunctions and unfair labor practice complaints in the federal courts, and obtained state court injunctions against violence and 'mass picketing.' Ms. Brewer also has experience with arbitration of grievances under collective bargaining agreements; and lawsuits to compel and vacate arbitration. She advises employers regarding potential liability arising from mergers, asset purchases, work relocation and subcontracting. She also has experience guiding employers through union organizing campaigns. Prior to joining private practice, Ms. Brewer was an attorney advisor for the NLRB. She is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the District of Columbia and Maryland, and before the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Third, Fourth and D.C. Circuits.
