Worldwide Cellular Base Station Components Forecast
In-Stat/MDR, Dec 2007, Pages: 15
The blend of cellular base-station components is changing, especially in terms of its cellular technology breakout. GSM is strong, but will decrease in the years ahead, and WCDMA will slowly grow. CDMA faces challenges of its own because the evolutionary path after CDMA2000 1X EV-DO Rev. B is unclear. Then there is WiMAX. WiMAX is not likely a large threat to cellular 3G, but even without a WiMAX threat, cellular has its own issues. Subscriber growth has started to slow, and cheaper semiconductors from Asia are now starting to enter the base station market. This report considers some of the factors influencing both the base-station semiconductor, and the cellular power amp and power amp semiconductor markets. Five-year forecasts are included for new base stations, base-station semiconductor revenue, cellular power amps, and power amp semiconductor revenue broken out by CDMA, GSM, and WCDMA. In addition, this report contains regional breakouts for cellular power amps by technology.
If you are looking for a good report to forecast the future of cellular base stations and base station semiconductors, including the power amp semiconductor outlook, this is it.
