The Kraft Foods Annual is an overview of Kraft Foods up to the end of 2006 and including important developments from early 2007.
Kraft Foods is entering a major transitional phase. It has new management in place and, after many years of speculation, has finally been spun-off by Altria. This should give the company the flexibility to develop its strategies.
Kraft started a new strategy plan in 2004 and this has started to deliver results. However, it is happening slowly; revenue is increasingly slowly but profitability is declining. The level of dependency on the North American market is falling but there is still a major bias towards domestic sales.
Kraft Foods is moving in the right direction but there is some considerable way to go to catch up with some other companies in the industry.
