Fuel and Energy Complex of Russia Atlas XXI
Petroleum Economist, The, April 2008
This new atlas is the result of two decades work by the Cartographic Information Center INCOTEC and the Institute of Microeconomics in the field of mapping and information support of Russia's energy sector. This is the first publication of such kind that includes comprehensive cartographic material and statistical data related to the fuel and energy complex of Russia, its regions and the CIS countries. This Atlas consists of three sections and includes approximately 100 maps accompanied by tables, charts, and overviews.
- The first section provides basic figures for energy developments in the leading countries of the world and the role of Russia in the global fuel and energy balance. The maps in this section reflect the distribution of world energy resources, production facilities and main energy transport routes, allowing the reader to compare development levels of fuel and energy sectors in various countries.
- In the second section, maps and statistical data describe the situation in the fuel and energy complex of Russia and nearby countries. The maps show the location of energy resources and industrial infrastructure of the oil, gas, coal and power generation industries of Russia and the CIS countries.
- The third section contains detailed maps of the fuel and energy sectors of the administrative regions of the Russian Federation and basic regional energy indicators. The large-scale maps of this section show the location of: oil and gas fields; coal deposits; pipelines; pumping and compressor stations; terminals; underground gas storage facilities; processing enterprises; coal mines and pits; power plants; electricity transmission lines; substations; and other energy infrastructure.
The Fuel and Energy Complex of Russia Atlas will serve as a visual aid for experts and researchers analysing the energy situation and projecting the development of Russia's fuel and energy complex at federal and regional levels. The Atlas is intended for top management and specialists of; ministries; departments; regional administrations; oil, gas and other energy enterprises; as well as banks; research organisations and educational institutions.
