Battlefield technology has existed since the time of the stone axe and the discovery of fire. It developed slowly at first, but began to pick up steam when the Chinese developed gunpowder in 850 A.D. History records that it advanced at increasing rates, a pattern which has now reached astounding leaps and bounds.
This study is a brief and general introduction to a series of following pieces that will address various ground force technologies, many of which are also applicable to law enforcement agencies (LEA).
