Waiting for WiMAX—US Consumers Want More From Wireless Broadband
In-Stat/MDR, June 2008, Pages: 49
Mobile wireless broadband will give operators a way to grow revenues as voice revenue growth starts to slow. The secret to successfully selling wireless broadband will require operators to put together the proper mix of service features with the right pricing. Based on the survey data collected by In-Stat, WiMAX provides the right mix of features and pricing to appeal to consumers. Report data comes from two surveys, one of mass-market consumers and the other of business users. Data in the report includes the following:
- Likes and dislikes of 3G cellular and Wi-Fi - Service selection criteria - Measure of respondents interest in 3G cellular, Wi-Fi, and WiMAX services - Data on what service providers need to do to market WiMAX services - Willingness to switch from current fixed broadband provider for WiMAX
NOTE: Survey was based on laptop data services, not phone handsets.
