This Analyst Recap is based on the symposium that took place in Shreveport, Louisiana on the new Air Force Cyber Command. This new command will be leading the charge for cyber warfare and information security in the Department of Defense (DoD) and is estimated to cost $10 billion to fully establish, and thus I thought this overview would be beneficial.

Description
In November, industry executives and DoD leadership gathered at the symposium organized by the Armed Forces Communication and Electronics Association (AFCEA) ArkLaTex Chapter in conjunction with Headquarters Eighth Air Force, Electronic Systems Center, and the Cyber Innovation Center. The meeting focused on three main areas including
-The existence of the Cyber Threat and current challenges
-Research and development within the “Cyber-Domain”
-Operational and acquisition challenges within the development and securing of AFCYBER.

The attached Analyst Recap of the conference provides an overview of the conference and includes:
- Highlights on the organizational structure of AFCYBER
- Historical information regarding the nature of the cyber threat
- Current challenges and agency pain points facing the securing of the “Cyber-Domain”
- Information on future AFCYBER technology and professional services related business opportunities
