Some of the major customers of the company include SABMiller (11%), PepsiCo (9%), all bottlers of Pepsi cola and Coca Cola branded beverages (29%), and the US Governmental agencies and their prime contractors (9%).

In March 2006, Ball acquired North American plastic bottle container assets from Alcan Packaging. This included three plastic container manufacturing plants; two in the US and one in Canada.
