The Gira European BVP & BVP Companies Panorama 2006-2011: Bread, Viennoiserie and Patisserie
Gira Food, Dec 2007, Pages: 840
All the facts and all the figures for all the EU-27 bread, viennoiserie and patisserie markets, with 5 year forecasts and profiles of all the major producers. An extensive EU overview, and detailed reports by country. The EU markets at your fingertips.
Exploiting its vast experience of the international bakery business, Gira offers you in this Panorama the first ever detailed, comprehensive and, above all, comparable database on BVP products, markets & production in each country of the EU. Our work for the Panorama has allowed us to estimate total consumption of BVP products at more than 36 million tonnes in EU-27 in 2006: - bread is by far the largest sector of the BVP market, with 83% of total BVP consumption - fresh products account for 72% of BVP consumption as a whole.
The Panorama identifies the main growth opportunities by products and by technology through 2011, testing whether the trend towards convenience will be stronger than the demand for freshness.
Our wider objective in the European BVP Panorama has been to introduce a coherent vision into an industry that has always suffered from a lack of information or, where information does exist, it is often misleading: - this Panorama concentrates exclusively on the consumption and supply of BVP in the EU-27. It positions each of the major segments of the BVP markets – both nationally and at EU level - unlike most of the studies available today, it excludes biscuits and breakfast cereals, which so often cloud the picture.
The Panorama contains all the relevant corporate, structural, and market information that you generally cannot find elsewhere, and never all in one place. It has 3 main sections: - The Pan–EU summary and analyses - Country reports – for each member state of the EU–27: a full description of the BVP industry, its operators, and their markets - Profiles of the top 75 BVP companies.
The EU Summary gives you the first ever comprehensive overview of the BVP markets and industries at EU–27 level: - an EU summary table for each of B, V and P, showing consumption, distribution and production for 2006 as well as Gira's forecasts for 2011 – the trends and opportunities - all the important news and events affecting your sector that have taken place since 1-1-2005: consumption trends, mergers & acquisitions, new regulation, prices etc. - BVP price graphs by country and by technology - 'league tables' of all the major industrial bakers, in value, by main BVP product activity – prepacked, fresh, bake-off.
The individual Country Reports, covering EU-27, describe the BVP markets and supply structures: - consumption, split according to the technology used (see figure opposite) for 2001, 2005 and 2006 - distribution channel analyses: retail and catering - production structure breakdowns: artisan bakers, modern retailers' in-store baking, industrial bakers – for each of fresh, bake-off and prepacked BVP products - forecasts for 2011 for all of the above elements: the products, the technologies, the distribution channels and the suppliers with strongest growth potential - all the major events affecting your industry in that country since January 2005.
