Kraft Foods is continuing to progress following its spin-off by Altria. Revenue is growing but profitability remains a crucial issue. Investment in marketing and innovation alongside rising commodity prices is depressing operating income.

The level of dependency on the North American market is falling but there is still a major bias towards domestic sales. However, divestments in the US, acquisitions in Europe and renewed new product activity are helping to shift the balance.

Kraft Foods is clearly moving in the right direction but it still lags its competitors in a number of areas.
