Summary
In the backdrop of surging oil prices and growing emissions, expanded use of alternative sources of energy has become the need of the hour. Governments worldwide are making attempts to ensure an increased share of alternate energy sources. Development of biofuels for transportation like ethanol and biodiesel is a recent phenomenon. Most mandates require blending 10-15% ethanol with gasoline or blending 2-5% biodiesel with diesel fuel.
