In the third quarter of 2008, the Taiwanese server motherboard industry still posted slight shipment growth despite the global economic downturn. However, server demand in emerging markets is expected to grow less than expected in the future. The server motherboard industry thus is forecasted to experience negative sequential growth in terms of shipment volume in the fourth quarter of 2008, which is likely to affect revenues of some Taiwanese server makers with high inventory levels.
