Wood Protection 2006
Forest Products Society (FPS), Dec 2007, Pages: 388
Durability issues continue to be topics for research and discussion, as the recent natural disasters clearly show. Despite it all, wood continues to be our construction material of choice with its advantages of renewability, low cost, ease of construction, and high strength to weight ratio. The papers in this proceedings are from the Wood Protection 2006 Conference held in New Orleans, Louisiana. Session topics include: Durable Structures Don’t Just Happen; Durability During Processing – Keeping What You Have; Wood Modification Practices; Composite Durability Issues: Enhancing Composite Durability; Environmental Issues; and Current and New Wood Preservatives and Processes. Papers and abstracts from the technical forum (poster) session are also included.
