One WLU is equivalent to one passenger (departing or arriving) or 100 kg of cargo (inbound or outbound). Market values are estimated from these WLU volumes, based on revenue figures per WLU for a representative sample of airport operators. Market shares are in terms of total passenger and freight traffic volume handled by airport operators. All conversions to US$ are performed at a single constant rate for each currency.
