As engineered products assume a major role in the wood industry, testing and measurement are becoming the keys to maximizing profit from every available component of a wood resource. The economic viability of the wood industry depends on the constant upgrading of techniques that allow the fullest use of the wood resource. This proceedings from the 11th NDT Symposium, held in 1998, presents research on:
- nondestructive testing of wood and wood-based composite products,
- nondestructive evaluation of lumber,
- nondestructive evaluation techniques for logs and standing timber, and
- in-situ nondestructive inspection of timber structures.
