This research report presents shipment volume forecast and recent quarter review of DSL equipment shipment volume, shipment value, and shipment by maker. Also examined are production locations, shipment destinations, business types, and OEM/ODM customer portfolios. The content of this report is based on primary data obtained through interviews with DSL equipment makers.
The report finds that the Taiwanese DSL CPE shipment volume and value both suffered considerable year-on-year declines in the fourth quarter of 2008. However, wireless DSL routers and IAD shipments showed relatively strong performance during this period. It is projected that DSL CPE demand will gradually recover in the first half of 2009, boosted by various government broadband stimulus plans worldwide.
