This report comprises a sophisticated analysis of the construction industry in Poland, making it a useful guide in formulating strategic decisions and development plans for organisations active on the construction market. Additionally, it presents the newest findings of our cyclical sector climate survey conducted among the management of the largest construction companies in Poland.

Benefit from sector development forecasts for 2009-2011, presented by the individual types of construction work for the whole country and for individual voivodships, prepared using time series analysis augmented by macroeconomic projections and knowledge of our experts.

The report is crafted with MarketInsight, our proprietary research methodology.

Key Points:

- Within the last few months, the development prospects of the construction sector have deteriorated strongly.

- In the coming years, civil engineering will become the main motor of the Polish construction industry.

- A revival in the public utility construction segment may help the non-residential construction sector to avoid a serious slowdown.

- Faced with a crisis, developers have suspended the execution of over 80% of planned projects.

- Increasingly fewer construction firms are expecting further growth in headcount and wages.

The report covers following sections:

- Polish construction and assembly industry
- Results of survey conducted among Poland's largest construction companies
- Civil engineering construction
- Non-residential construction
- Residential construction
- Voivodship profiles
- The 13 largest construction companies’ profiles.

This is a must have report for anyone from:

- the top management of construction companies active on the Polish market
- the strategic planners and executives of firms considering market entry
- companies engaged in construction and those in production and distribution of building materials
- architectural and consultancy firms interested in this market.

The report is an invaluable source of information for any company wanting to launch operations or to fortify its position on one of the local construction markets of Poland

Word from Author:

“At the end of 2008 the situation on the Polish construction market worsened markedly. Today, market outlook is much bleaker than it was as recently as six months ago. Faced with negligible demand and difficulties with raising financing, developers have suspended most of their planned residential construction undertakings. In addition, some investors have also decided to trim their non-residential portfolios, which given the anticipated thinning of foreign direct investments does not bode well for large size construction projects. However, the higher number of investment to be realized in the public utility building category should compensate construction firms for much of the losses they face on the real estate development market.

Without a doubt, the main motor of growth for the Polish construction market in the coming years will be civil engineering construction, primarily thanks to the execution of infrastructure project co-funded by the EU and the completion of projects connected with Euro 2012.”

Bartlomiej Sosna, Senior Construction Analyst
