The Survey of American College Students: Use of Blogs, Listservs, Webcasts & Podcasts
Primary Research Group, July 2009, Pages: 40+
The 40+ page report gives extensive data on use of blogs, listservs, podcasts and webcasts by American college students. Data is broken out by more than 16 criteria including gender, income level, type and size of college, mean SAT acceptance score of the college, and many other variables.
Just a few of the report's many findings are that:
- Nearly 62% of the students in the sample have ever listened to or viewed a podcast or webcast.
- Students at research universities subscribed to twice the number of listservs as students at other colleges.
- Very left wing students were the most enthusiastic blog readers averaging more than 8 blogs read per month.
