How to Conduct a Successful Network Technology Pilot
Info-Tech Research Group, Aug 2009, Pages: 6
There are various excuses for not conducting a well-orchestrated technology pilot. They include a short timeline, a heavy IT workload, or a lack of technical personnel. In reality, even the smallest of IT organizations can successfully complete a pilot test by following these proven best practices:
- Match technology capabilities and benefits against enterprise needs.
- Create a pilot test plan that identifies all required testing criteria.
- Assign specific roles and responsibilities.
Whenever possible, IT organizations should also request that the selected technology provider participate in the pilot so that there are clear, agreed-to objectives that must be achieved before a contract for the associated network services is finalized.
