The content of this report is based on primary data obtained through interviews with notebook PC makers.
The report finds that although some major markets continued to be plagued by the economic woe, the first-quarter Greater Chinese notebook PC shipment volume saw slight growth on stronger than expected end-market demand. Although shipment value still recorded sequential declines, ASP drops began to slow down in the second quarter. In full-year 2009, the Greater Chinese notebook PC industry's shipment volume is expected to see slight growth in comparison with the level in 2008.
