Interface Survey 2009: Tracking Interface Usage on Work and Home PCs
In-Stat/MDR, July 2009, Pages: 26
The market for digital interface technologies continues growing and includes USB, 1394, DVI, HDMI, and Bluetooth, among others. USB is both the most-owned and most-used PC interface. 1394 is the next most widely owned PC interface, followed by Bluetooth, DVI, and HDMI.
This survey tracks the ownership of five interface technologies among the author's Technology Adoption Panel in both work and home PCs: USB, 1394, DVI, HDMI, and Bluetooth. It also queried the 1,379 online respondents about what they connected their PCs to using these technologies, including PC peripherals, CE, and mobile devices. In addition, the survey included questions about respondents' interest in next-generation ultrawideband-based technologies, such as wireless USB and high-speed Bluetooth, and their willingness to pay for the inclusion of these technologies in PCs and mobile phones. Demographic information about the respondents, including age, gender, income, and marital status, is included.
