The Brigham Renal Board Review Course

The Harvard Medical School, Department of Continuing Education and Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Renal Division, Department of Medicine recent conducted The Brigham Renal Board Review Course.
The Brigham Renal Board Review Course is designed to prepare participants for the ABIM Subspecialty Board Examination in Nephrology (certification/recertification). It conveys state-of-the-art information on the pathophysiology, diagnosis, and management of renal disorders. The program also addresses fluid and electrolyte problems, hypertension, renal disease, and the management of acute and chronic renal failure. Additionally, the activity emphasizes the practical application of physiological principles to the understanding and management of clinical problems.
This activity should be most valuable for clinical and academic nephrologists; nephrology trainees; and internists, pediatricians, and primary care physicians with an interest in nephrology and hypertension.
Learning Objectives
After viewing this activity, participants will be able to: - Understand current pathophysiological mechanisms of renal disease - Discuss differential diagnosis of complex clinical presentations of patients with renal disorders - Identify therapeutic options for specific renal disorders - Review renal pathology relevant to both the nephrology boards and clinical practice - Understand pathophysiology and discuss the management of clinical problems in transplant patients
