The reform of the gas industry in Russia makes its first, but already confident steps. The Government intends to liberalize the market of accompanying gas and then ensure a non-discrimination access of independent producers to the pipeline system of 'Gazprom'. The Russian oil companies are more and more active in the gas market trying to undermine 'Gazprom's' monopoly. The oil companies are buying up gas-processing complexes and are going to form a group of oil-chemical complexes according to the 'Sibur' pattern.
