Musculoskeletal MRI
CME Group, April 2010
UCSF's Musculoskeletal MRI activity is an update of MRI evaluation of the musculoskeletal system including the joints, as well as MRI of muscle, bone and soft tissue tumor assessment, and nerve entrapment syndromes. Practical information is emphasized. Advances in musculoskeletal imaging is shown including the capabilities of new equipment, coils and higher field imaging. Protocols and reporting are discussed in some lectures. Hot topics including ACL repair, postoperative shoulder, femoroacetabular impingement and cartilage imaging provides new information that can be used in general and subspecialty practices.
Target Audience:
This activity is geared towards diagnostic radiologists, orthopedic surgeons, sports medicine physicians, and MRI technologists with some basic or intermediate knowledge of musculoskeletal MRI who want to increase their knowledge to a more advanced level.
Objectives:
At the completion of this activity, participants should be able to: - Use optimized protocols for imaging of the musculoskeletal system - Understand the MRI anatomy of the shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knee and ankle - Identify abnormalities and clinical signifi cance of MRI of the joints, muscles and cartilage - Recognize common bone and soft tissue tumors with a pertinent differential diagnosis - Recall fi ndings associated with nerve entrapment syndromes - Consider implementation of new developments in musculoskeletal MRI into their practice

CME credit is obtained upon successful completion of a program evaluation. A processing fee must accompany the completed evaluation.
