CME Group, April 2007
This program is designed for the radiologist in clinical practice, and is intended to provide an overview and update on clinically relevant topics in diagnostic imaging and interventional techniques.
There is an up-to-date assessment of the clinical uses of imaging modalities in the diagnosis of diseases of the chest, abdomen, and vascular system. Hot topics include cardiac imaging, multidetector CT, CT/MR angiography, virtual colonoscopy, and tumor ablation.
The program provides:
- A review of thoracic abnormalities including CT assessment of the solitary pulmonary nodule, CT diagnosis of large and small airways disease, the imaging of lung cancer and pleural abnormalities, and thoracic cardiovascular diseases, including aortic disease, pulmonary embolism, coronary artery disease, and cardiac disease. Uses of multidetector CT and MRI is discussed - A practical approach to high-resolution lung CT and an update on the classification of diffuse lung diseases - A better understanding of the imaging diagnosis of abdominal and pelvic abnormalities, including pancreatic tumors, benign and malignant liver lesions, biliary disease, the use of CT and magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography, and the imaging of adrenal and renal masses and gynecological malignancies - A practical approach to state-of-the-art imaging techniques such as CT angiography, virtual colonoscopy and the newest interventional procedures including tumor ablation and arterial and venous interventions
Learning Objectives
At the completion of this program, participants will be able to: - Appraise practical approaches to state-of- the-art imaging techniques: CTA, VC, tumor ablation - Classify diffuse lung diseases - Describe the current approaches to the use of multi-detector CT and MRI to thoracic abnormalities - Integrate the approach to HRCT of the lung into current practice - Identify abdominal and pelvic abnormalities through the use of CT and MRCP
